2020 Dodge Challenger Coupe – Big and Heavy Stirring Performer

History tells us that the 2020 Dodge Challenger Coupe will compete with Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, but the reality is that its personality is very different. America’s three muscle cars are garnering attention for their high-powered V-8s, but there are significant differences in their drive.

Compared to the Chevrolet and Ford’s crisp handling, the Dodge is better suited for comfortable driving, with the V-8’s exhaust always ready to order. Those who want a more powerful version will wish to the SRT Hellcat, which produces 807 horsepower.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger is a 2-door, 5-seater coupe available in five basic trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat. The rear-wheel-drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is also available for the SXT and GT.

2020 Dodge Challenger Configurations

  • The Dodge Challenger SXT and GT models feature a 6.6-liter V-feature that matches 305 hp and 264 lb-ft for an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard with 19/30 mpg city/highway fuel economy numbers. The number drops to 18/27 mpg with an optional all-wheel drive.
  • The Challenger R/T versions are powered by a 5.5-liter V-8 engine with 375 hp. Rear wheels power the six-speed manual gearbox or the optional eight-speed gearbox. Fuel economy is 15/23 mpg with manual transmission and 16/25 with automatic transmission. A 6.4-liter V-8 powers the Challenger R/T scat pack with 485 hp.
  • The Challenger SRT Hellcat produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft and delivers 13/22 mpg with an eight-speed automatic and 13/21 mpg with a six-speed manual.

2020 Dodge Challenger Cargo

The Dodge Challenger can hold 16.2 cubic feet of cargo in the trunk, and the rear-seats can be folded into a 60/40 configuration. The in-cab loader provides 42.0 inches of front-seat foot room and 33.1 inches of rear-seat foot room.

2020 Dodge Challenger Colors

The 12 exterior color options available in the 2020 Dodge Challenger include Octane Red, TorRed, Triple Nickel, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, F8 Green, Pitch Black, Knuckle White, Frostbite, Hellraisin, Go Mango, and Sinnamon Stick.

The Challenger has the interior of a classic muscle car, a simple design inspired by its 1970s predecessor and comfortable spaces. Compared to its pony car competitors, the Dodge has more room in the interior, and adults can use the back seat.

2020 Dodge Challenger Infotainment and Connectivity

Standard features include the Uconnect infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, two USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Available features include a sunroof, an 8.4-inch touch screen, a six- or nine-speaker Alpine audio system, an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, satellite radio, and navigation.

2020 Dodge Challenger Safety

The 2020 Challenger received a 4-star crash test rating from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Authority (NHTSA). This old-fashioned coupe has the desired driver assistance technology.

Main safety features:

  • A blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • An adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic high-beams

2020 Dodge Challenger Warranty

Challenger has an average limited and a powertrain warranty.

  • The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  •  Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles

The bold and retro muscular look of the 2020 Dodge Challenger is visible for the first time, but it’s a deal under the hood. Especially when the sound of V-8 power enters the icon in a loud voice and comfortable seating adds to the equation. Although the R/T scat pack has excellent performance values, the Base V-6 Coupe is a great deal with its brand traditions and fun driving.
